This is the inspection section of the Lexus assembly line of Toyota Motor Corp's Tahara plant located in Aichi Prefecture. This view shows a worker conducting a special inspection on a Lexus hybrid for blemishes on 36 spots using a hand held digital measuring device that takes 15 to 20 minutes for each car. At this plant Toyota manufactures the Lexus models: LS600h (hybrid launched in Japan in May 2007), the 600hl, LS460, 460L, GS450h, 430, 350, 300, IS350 and 250. On average there are 670 vehicles manufactured here every day, which is about one car every 83 seconds coming off the line. Also unique to this plant is the rigid quality control standards that checks for scratches, imperfections, and noise levels in the cab.
