Lexus_plant_047.jpg

This is the inspection section of the assembly line of Toyota Motor Corporation's Tahara plant located in Aichi Prefecture where Toyota manufactures its luxury Lexus sedans. Many of the cars in this photo are hybrid models. The models manufactured here include the Lexus models: LS600h (hybrid launched in Japan in May 2007), the 600hl, LS460, 460L, GS450h, 430, 350, 300, IS350 and 250. On average there are 670 vehicles manufactured here every day, which is about one car every 83 seconds coming off the line. Also unique to this plant is the rigid quality control standards that checks for scratches, imperfections, noise levels in the cab, and an extra inspection for blemishes on 36 spots using a hand held digital measuring device that takes 15 to 20 minutes for each car.
