This is the funeral procession of singer James Brown which was held in Harlem on on Dec. 28, 2006. Brown's gold casket was carried by horse drawn carriage from Reverend Al Sharpton National Action Network (NAN) on W. 145th, down Malcolm X Boulevard (Lenox Ave.) to the Apollo Theater and was followed closely behind by Rev. Sharpton and thousands of spectators. The Godfather of Soul's body was to lay in repose later in the day from 1-8 PM at the Apollo. This view shows the carriage containing Brown's casket just after the procession came to a halt in front of the Apollo.
